Assistant Director for the Office of Undergraduate Education
Berne Christiansen serves as an Assistant Director for the Office of Undergraduate Education, supporting a variety of OUE initiatives.
Prior to joining OUE, Berne worked as an Academic Advisor, Senior Academic Advisor, and Policy and Procedure Specialist in the College of Liberal Arts. In addition to advising students, he led the college’s scholastic committee, supported new advisor onboarding, and served on college and campus workgroups related to policy and procedure. During his time in CLA, Berne received the John Tate Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Advising and the Academic Advising Network Campus Connector Award. He’s worked in higher education, primarily in advising roles, since 2008.
Berne holds a B.S. in English (Education) and a B.A. in Political Science from Bemidji State University, and a M.A. in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas
