LeeAnn Melin

Associate Vice Provost for Student Success

As Associate Vice Provost for Student Success, LeeAnn Melin leads and coordinates central undergraduate student support services and initiatives on the Twin Cities campus. She oversees the Student Success units within the Office of Undergraduate Education, including the Center for Academic Planning & Exploration, Tutoring & Academic Success Center, President’s Emerging Scholars Program, Orientation & Transition Experiences, as well as campus-wide advising and transfer student initiatives. She also chairs the Undergraduate Student Equity and Success Committee.

With 35 years of experience in higher education, LeeAnn’s work, teaching, and research have consistently focused on holistic student development. Her previous roles include Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Student Initiatives, Director of the Office for Student Engagement, Director of Orientation & First-Year Programs, and leadership positions in residence life and leadership development.

LeeAnn earned her Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Minnesota, a master's degree from Northern Michigan University in Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
