As the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Student Initiatives, LeeAnn Melin is responsible for a variety of central support units and initiatives that contribute to student success. Specifically, LeeAnn oversees the Center for Academic Planning & Exploration, SMART Learning Commons, the President's Emerging Scholars program, central advising initiatives, the second-year experience initiative, and co-leads the transfer student experience initiative.
Over the course of her U of M career, LeeAnn has served as the founding director of the Office for Student Engagement and the director of Orientation and First Year Programs. She has taught undergraduate classes through the Center for Spirituality and Healing and the University's Leadership Minor.
LeeAnn earned her PhD in Higher Education from the University of Minnesota, her master's degree from Northern Michigan University, and a BA from the University of Minnesota.
