Minors Enrolled in Classes

Prior to enrolling at the University of Minnesota, students under age 16 must have completed:

  • the equivalent of 2 years of lower division college coursework
  • or the student can otherwise demonstrate readiness for U of M coursework
  • or the student is in 10th grade at a public or private high school and applying to the University’s PSEO program for their junior year.

Students under age 16 and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will be asked to review and agree to the “Expectations for Minor Students” guidelines prior to the student enrolling in U of M courses.

Prospective students under age 16 and their families should contact Scott Coenen ([email protected]), Director of Pre-College Programs, for more information and next steps.
