Writing Intensive Course Application

The Campus Writing Board meets monthly (except for June, August, and December) to review all proposals that have been submitted. After review, decision letters are sent to the proposer(s). All proposals should be submitted at least one week prior to each meeting, to ensure there is enough time for review.

All applicants: Please read the Definition of a Writing Intensive Course and Frequently Asked Questions

Instructions for Regular Courses

To apply for Writing Intensive designation for regular courses:

  1. Submit a new or updated course proposal in ECAS. Make sure to answer completely the six WI questions.
  2. E-mail a Word or PDF copy of a new or updated syllabus to Rachel Rodrigue.

When submitting a WI course in ECAS: There is no alert system that indicates when a WI proposal has been submitted, and there are several other levels in ECAS that a proposal may need to pass through before reaching the WI queue. Please consider notifying CWB staff when submitting a course for WI designation in ECAS in order to ensure timely review.
