Undergraduate Communication

The Office of Undergraduate Education uses many channels to communicate with students, faculty and staff.

Undergrad Update

The Undergrad Update connects and informs all Twin Cities undergraduate students of events, resources, and opportunities that serve to enhance the overall student experience.

The myU portal is the access point to the University of Minnesota's learning platform, an integrated set of tools and applications to support teaching and learning. Through myU, faculty can access Moodle sites for all their classes, the Google Apps suite, HRSS applications, UM Reports, NetFiles, HIPAA and Privacy/Security training, Library resources related to their discipline, and news and information specifically for faculty. Once the user logs in to myU, the single sign-on feature allows them to move between most applications without a second log-in.

Freshman Newsletter & Year 1

The Freshman Newsletter is a monthly e-newsletter sent to the freshman class throughout the academic year. The newsletter content includes items pertinent to the success and wellbeing of first-year students. Content addresses developmental needs and time-sensitive materials relevant to a seamless transition to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Year 1 is a weekly article series is available to first-year students on myU. The articles address common transitional issues students face in their first year. Each week's article gives students perspective on common anxieties surrounding their college experience and gives them specific campus resources to overcome these anxieties so they can have a successful year.
